Hey guys! I just got and installed my Azteeg x5 Mini V3 today!
I've got motion and extruder 1 all working via Repetier but I'm having several issues.
Openbeam Kossel Pro w/ Azteeg x5 Mini V3 and a Poly Stroooder Tri-Hotend (3 nozzles/extruder motors) and a Printrbot Extrudrboard to run the additional heads and the latest version of Smoothieware.
I'm using Repetier Host and Slic3r (latest versions of everything)
running windows 7 and editing the config files with gedit as recommended in the smoothie documentation (by the way the documentation is beautiful and fairly comprehensive! good job guys)
I'm having a series of problems so I'll list them out here:
1. When I go to print with extruder 1 (assume the others are not even setup in the config yet) the machine heats up and executes the bed probe sequence. after that the head moves to the center (~35mm above the surface) then it moves a little bit, maybe 2 line segments, then it just freezes up. the temperatures are no longer updated and nothing happens. I have to power cycle the machine to talk to it again. I've been making sure to 'eject' my sd card in windows when connected to the machine. I also reconfigured Repetier to a single extruder for this machine and the problem still occurs.
2. I can setup two hotend modules in the config but as soon as I add the third, smoothie will not boot/none of the 4 LEDs will illuminate. If I set extruder.hotend2.enable to false it will ignore the 3rd hotend and load up no problem. (modules are hotend 0, hotend1, and hotend2) Howcome i cannot configure it for 3 hotends?
3. I see 'delta_current' and 'epsilon_current' as options in the Extruder configuration documentation and I assume its for the digipots. Just to be clear, I wouldn't use 'epsilon_current' with additional extruders because the extrudrboard does not have digipots, right? So it should be okay to omit?
4. After reviewing the datasheet I've found that P0.30 and P0.31 in the EXP1 header are ADC inputs so I've selected them as the inputs for the additional hotend thermistors. However, with the thermistors plugged into the Extrudrboard and the Extrudrboard plugged into EXP2 and EXP1(just the thermistors on EXP1) both are reported as 0.0c in Repetier. I've tried other analog inputs and none seem to work. to rule out the thermistors being bad I plugged them into the heated bed input and they report the correct temperature. I also plugged the heated bed into those ports and got 0.0c. All my thermistors are the same (semitec) I do not understand why these analog inputs are not working.
I am using a config file provided to me by MatterHackers, they have a very similar machine so I just modified their config to suit my machine. Here is my modified version.
Thanks for the help, I can't wait to get up and running on smoothie! :) I've got two more machines to convert!
