I have set alpha_current 0.5,beta_current 1,gamma_current 2. I found the actual current is not enough. I have check the board , I think maybe the mcp4451 is bad. i want to replace it, but mcp4451 have 5k,10k,50k,100k, which one is the smoothieboard used? thank you.
Hey there !
One of the batch of Smoothieboard had one resistor that needed to be changed near the digipot.
It's possible that your resistor was not changed.
Do you have a 3X, 4X or 5X board ?
When did you buy the board ?
Does your board say Smoothieboard v1.0 or v1.0a ?
I guess I have a similar problem.
I'm using the smoothieboar 5x in the newest version. Everything works well so far except for the current control.
When a single motor is running my gauge shows me about 0.3 - 0.42 Amps. It doesn't matter if I set the current control parameters to 0.1 A, 0.5A 1.5 A or 2A. But I need a higher torque (means a higher current).
Does anyone have an idea why the smoothieboard doesn't accept my settings in this case?
My current control parameters are the following:
Thanks and greetings
Ive had an this issue for a while now and never got around to trying to trouble shoot.
Changing the motor current seems to have no effect on my board.
Which boards have this resistor problem, I have a v1.0a board.
Which resistor and what value does it need to be swapped for?
If your current doesn't change, and you are certain of that, you need to get your board replaced, please contact moc.liamg|ruhtra.flow#moc.liamg|ruhtra.flow and explain the problem.
